No need to stress. At Vision Source-Fox Optical we have a digital phoropter, which is a fancy way of saying we can find your glasses prescription more quickly and accurately than the traditional “1 or 2.” BTW, it’s ok if they look the same.

“I don’t want my eyes dilated!”
We have an alternative! The Optomap Daytona captures a digital image of virtually your entire retina without dilation. You just have to smile pretty for the picture. Both dilation and Optomap allow Dr. Parker a view of your entire retina, which is important to rule out disease or weak areas that can lead to retinal detachments. Disclaimer: there are some circumstances when dilation will be necessary and Dr. Parker will advise accordingly.

Ok, ok, we won’t. There are alternatives to “the puff,” and we have them!

“Ahh, the light is too bright!”
This you can’t get out of. Dr. Parker will do a very thorough exam of the surface of your eye using a special microscope that allows him to properly diagnose dry eye, pink eye and clues to other systemic disease such as arthritis, diabetes and heart disease.

Using the latest computerized technology and careful examination and measurement by the doctor, we assess each patient’s visual system, consider your concerns and will recommend ways to correct your vision through glasses, contacts, corneal reshaping technology or laser vision correction.

We believe an eye exam should be comfortable without ruining your entire day. We are proud to offer a comprehensive exam with alternatives to dilation and the puff so few enjoy. We also have coffee.
Health
We also want to keep your eyes as healthy as possible because a healthy eye has the best vision. We routinely check for dry eyes, glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration and other signs of ocular infection or inflammation that can indicate other diseases in the body. We do this with a thorough check using the most advanced microscopic and imaging techniques with our Digital Retinal Exam and a “puff-free” pressure check for glaucoma.
